Beyond the Surface: Welcome to Mattia Urlotti Studio

There is an exact moment when the frame can no longer contain the thought.
For over twenty years, I sought silence: isolating a fragment of reality through the lens, stripping away the noise, and returning it with a soul and a concept. In 2019, that trajectory found a name: Poegrafia. It marked an essential encounter between photographic vision and the weight of the written word—a practice intimate in substance and contemplative in language, yet shared with a community seeking, as I was, a trace of meaning beyond the surface.
Yet the pursuit of the essential never remains static. At a certain point, it demands friction, calls for body, and claims space. Because while the image halts time, matter has the duty to occupy it.
Moving beyond paper and screen, vision sought the wall, volume, and three-dimensionality. This gave rise to the matter painting of Physis, the reliefs of Polis, and installations conceived not as interior decoration, but as an architectural presence capable of anchoring the gaze and enduring through time.
Today, this journey reaches its definitive synthesis: Mattia Urlotti Studio is born, and with it, the URLO® signature.
It's not a farewell to what has been, but its fulfillment. The natural conclusion after a journey rich in stimuli, transitions, encounters, and exchanges. The written word remains the backbone of every project: the former PoeBlog evolves in this Journal, a choral space for cultural criticism, visual reflection and reporting of studio.
From this balance between gesture and rigor emerges our consulting practice for brands, architects, and institutions: the challenge of translating contemporary identities into a solid, distinctive, and lasting visual imprint.
To those who shared every verse and frame of Poegrafia, and to those stepping in for the first time: welcome to the Studio.
While trends fade, the commitment remains to design what endures.
